You’re ready for your new adventure! You have taken a great and very wise step in life and decided to attend Lund University, the best university in Sweden! We know you’ll appreciate the perks of being a part of the rich student community that Lund offers; the Nations, the Academic Society (AF) and the Student Unions which together make up Studentlund. Through membership in Studentlund, you will be able to attend all the activities hosted by these organisations, such as pubs, nightclubs, spex, balls, cafés, brunches and lunches. So what happens now? Below are some frequently asked questions that put you on the right track!
I HAVE NOWHERE TO STAY, HELP!
Your first move as a new student in Lund is to make a housing application at AF Bostäder, which you’ll find at https://www.afbostader.se/en/ . AF Bostäder runs the majority of the accomodation in Lund, not counting the nations.
Lunds Nation offers the most accomodation of all the nations in Lund, and to find out how to apply, read below!
If you, despite all efforts, still haven’t found somewhere to stay, organisations like BoPoolen can help you! To read more about BoPoolen and finding accomodation through them, visit http://bopoolen.nu/en/find-housing-in-lund/?action=sv . Also keep your eyes open on social media! Often people who themselves are going abroad for a semester rent out their room or apartment for the time. There are also those looking for someone rent an extra room in their house!
Lastly, don’t worry, everyone has somewhere to stay in the end!
I WANT TO APPLY FOR ACCOMODATION AT LUNDS NATION! WHAT DO I DO?

We’re also going to have a lottery for new students, offering housing contracts, more info on this will appear on our Facebook-page during the summer, so keep your eyes open! Note that our lottery is separate from the lottery held by AF Bostäder, and that you only can apply for housing at Lunds Nation if you’re a member.
If you have any other questions about housing at Lunds Nation, send an email to email@example.com, and we’ll answer your questions as soon as we can!
I WANT TO PARTAKE IN THE AF HOUSING LOTTERY, BUT I AM NOT YET A MEMBER OF ANY NATION. WHAT DO I DO?

You get your student ID as soon as you enroll in a nation. The physical card can take up to two weeks to arrive, however there is a digital version available almost instantly as soon as you’re enrolled, through the app ”Studentkortet”. It’s available both on Android and iOS!
HOW DOES THE APP WORK?
Download the app just like any other, for free! Here you can find all the discounts tied to the card and search for specific companies to see if they have any special discounts for you. Under the tab ”My Card” (”Mitt Kort” in Swedish) you’ll find the digital version of the card, which can be used just like the physical card!
I COMMUTE TO LUND, HOW DO I GET MY DISCOUNT WITH SKÅNETRAFIKEN?
You can get your student discount with Skånetrafiken if you study at least 50% during 10 weeks in a semester. A symbol will appear on your card that looks like a book on wheels. You have to be able to show this symbol on the train when you ride by train or bus on a discounted card. However, until September 15th a letter of acceptance or certificate of registration is enough. After that, only your student ID will suffice. Read more about the discounted student travel card at https://www.skanetrafiken.se/sa-reser-du-med-oss/jojo-kort/jojo-student/
